Python Programming Is Growing Fast

By Jeff Sanders

It is beyond debate that Python is the fastest-growing, most widely adapted coding language of recent years. Since the very beginning, programmers have been mesmorised by it's capacity and robustness. It is believed amongst most experts, that the full features and capability of Python has yet to be seen by the development community. So the fact that it now ranks in the top 10 amongst programming languages should come as no surprise. It currently holds the 9th spot, but will climb to the top as one of the most potent and valuable programming languages in the world.

Where Python Came From

The credit for the creation of Python must go to Mr. Guido Van Rossum, who spent a long time developing it. Mr. Rossum is believed to have begun work on the language in the month of December, 1989. But only in February, 1991 was he able to release the first version of this impressive programming language. To be specific, Python came into existence on February 20th 1991 officially.

Classification of Python

Python belongs to the category of high level programming languages and it is a general purpose coding language. The language was designed with readability being the highest priority, this is a design approach that focuses on ease-of-use, lower barrier of knowledge for users. Python is described as being concise, expressive, and clear; this is not typically the top three descriptions you expect to hear about a coding language. It also comes with an impressive standard library that simplifies many of your programming tasks with its built-in functions. There are Python training classes now available to learn the syntax, class methods, variables and more.

The Quick Evolution of this Open Source Language

Black Duck Software has compiled a set of stats about programming languages known as Ohloh programming statistics. Based on these Ohloh statistics, it is proven that Python is quickly becoming the most-used platform by developers.
