Tips To A Successful Prezi Like Presentation In Powerpoint

By Ora Dickson

Presenting in front of a crowd can be nerve wracking. This is especially true when the crowd you are presenting to is composed of executives and C-level personnel. If you are not careful with what you present, you will end up losing their trust. Here are tips that can help you achieve a successful prezi like presentation in Powerpoint.

First of all, you have to pay attention to the time when you are presenting. You have to do the report on time as well as end it at a reasonable time. Do not be late in starting the said report because that will put the executives in a bad mood. They will feel bored or they will feel like you are just wasting their time.

You should also take into consideration the message of what you are presenting. You should try to capture the summary of the message of what you are presenting in one sentence. This might be quite difficult but being able to do so should help you show off how knowledgeable you are with the topic. It shows your mastery of the subject.

If you have summed up the message of what you are presenting in one sentence, then you should be able to take advantage of that one sentence to search for results that can support your overall message. You can get basic information as well as experimental details when you search using that one sentence.

Do not forget about the opening and the introduction. As much as possible, you should prepare these part of your report so that you can pique the interest of your audience. For this matter, you may take advantage of a scientific question, catchy phrase, or provocative statement. You can even give the conclusion of this report right then.

Do not forget to greet the crowd before you actually start presenting though. You have to acknowledge those who have come to listen to what you are presenting. You should even give honor to those who deserve the honor. If you greet the crowd, they will feel that you are really interacting with them.

You should try to use graphs and tables when presenting. Instead of writing out the numbers and putting them in bullet forms or such, having graphs and tables should let the crowd understand what you are presenting to them easily. These are visual aids that can help the crowd catch up to your explanations without having to read a lot of text.

The report has to be brief and concise. Avoid using fluff words or words that are just there to increase the word count. You have to be straight to the point so that you do not confuse the audience who are listening to your report. Use simple terms if you can help it.

There is also the conclusion and ending of your report. The conclusion and ending of the report is basically the bottom line of the entirety of the said presentation. If they understand the report, you can easily get them to see the link between the topic and your conclusion.
