A Guide To Hiring The Best Scrum Instructor

By Betty Young

Scrum trainers are on high demand as more your people join sports because of their growing stature. There are numerous persons purporting to be trainers. The game being such a sensitive engagement demands a professional who understands his trade. You need to consider several factors when hiring a scrum instructor for your team.

A licensed trainer is an asset to any team. Licensing is done after the subject has gone through necessary training course. It means that he will have acquired the knowledge required to train players under him. The skills to be imparted to your team will therefore be standardized. This means that you can compete adequately with other players in the sport.

A trainer who has lived through the experience of playing is preferred. While one might go to class and learn, the skills obtained when one plays cannot be compared to what is learnt in class. There is a practical approach when the coach has already played the game. The instructions given have also been tested in the field and proven to work.

Experience of a player is a valuable, but a seasoned trainer will add even more value. Though the trainer has learnt the skills, he knows how to apply them and mold a team that that deliver results. This includes managing a team and ensuring that individuals deliver the best results at all times. This will make your players more accurate and less prone to errors.

Has the coach been successful in his career? It might not be at the highest level but a history of success is valuable. Success means that he has the best tactics and also knows how to use them in order to produce a winning team. This is the assurance you need that your team will also perform well.

The best instructors are motivators. Players face a lot of challenges as they advance their skills. Making something out of an amateur requires proper handling of the talent. You need a coach who can encourage players to become the best. With a motivator, you will get more with very little effort.

The coach should be proactive in his approach to training. It is the proactive approach that will produce extraordinary results. Using old drills and tactics does not add any value. It is mundane and will get you relegated to oblivion. A proactive approach exposes players to new ideas that boost the performance of your team.

The best instructors are team players. They approach coaching with the mindset that everyone in the field is important. The instructor will not be a bully but will involve players, fellow instructors and all other partners in developing team spirit. When the team wins, everyone feels proud. When it loses, everyone takes responsibility.

Each team or club has rules. The coach must be ready to live by them. He understands expectations from the franchise and responsibilities he has to fulfill. Availability is crucial in order to instruct the players. It takes an instructor who is ambitious and ready to help a team achieve its objectives to take charge of a club and make it successful.
