By Ann Roberts

The gaming industry is a multi-billion dollar industry with dozens of major hardware developers competing to increase their share of the market. The number of video game developers is always increasing by the day with millions of games developed. If you like playing video games, you should buy the most powerful gamer PC to ensure you enjoy the best gaming experience.

A PC is just a computer, whether it is used for gaming, word processing, watching movies or storing information. Therefore, you should always pay attention to the specifications of the computer when looking for a PC for gaming purposes. Please note that a computer does not need to be labeled gaming computer to be used for gaming purposes.

A gaming experienced can be enhanced by a large screen. Therefore, you should take your time to identify computers with the largest screens. The ideal screen should be able to handle high definition images as well as 3D because this is the display technology of the future.

Be sure to pay attention to the installed RAM in a computer when looking for a gaming computer. This is because the RAM will affect both the speed and performance of the computer. The best gaming PCs have at least 8GB of RAM, but there are others with over 16GB of RAM. Ideally, you should buy a computer with over 8GB of installed RAM and several RAM slots for future expansion.

Data storage capacity is not a key factor of consideration when looking for a gaming PC. While you will need some storage space, what is much more important is the read/write speed of the storage medium. In that regard, you may want to buy a PC with SSD storage instead of a HDD. Alternatively, you can buy a computer with both devices, but with the SSD as the primary storage medium.

The speed of the central processing unit matters a great deal. You want the fastest CPU to meet your gaming needs, so you should look for a computer with at least 3.2GHz of processing speed. There should also be at least two CPUs that work together to process data faster. Alternatively, you can pick a computer with at least 8 processing cores (octocore).

Playing a game alone can be fun. However, playing against a friend, sibling, spouse or kids can be much more fun. Therefore, you need to buy a computer with many USB ports. The ideal computer should also have wireless capability since playing with cordless control pads will enhance the gaming experience.

It is always recommended you make a list of computers that meet your technical and design specifications before making a purchase. Be sure to also list their prices to make price comparisons easier. When looking for an affordable gaming computer, you need to do your research both online and offline. Consider visiting local electronics and gaming outlets, shopping malls and departmental stores among other places where gaming PCs can be found.
