The managers should ensure the employees welfare and satisfaction so that they are very productive.

However what initiates other management functions is planning. This is important to give the business a focus. It is unlikely that the firm will produce good results given they do not have goals and objectives that guide them. The manager therefore decides what the organization is to achieve and strategies and procedures to do that are laid down as well.

At times the managers will need to delegate their power and authority to their juniors for a variety of reasons. They may want to relieve themselves from some work they do in the organization. They may also want to give the juniors a chance to prove themselves so that they can feel part and parcel of the firm.
